Note : Grandpa of trash Joe D'Amato is back, with a sequel of sorts to Anthropophagus. It's really an unrelated slasher story, but it stars George Eastman again, who also wrote the script, as a sort of unkillable mutant slasher monster who likes to murder a lot. It's nonsensical, of course, but there's plenty of inventive gore, as victims meet their ends by medical drill, band saw, pickaxe to the head, gas oven, and so on. Shot in English to make it more attractive for US audiences (which I doubt worked very well), it's still very obviously Italian.
A priest arrives in the US chasing a man, Mikos Tanoupoulos, who escaped from a medical laboratory. The experiments gave Mikos very rapid healing, but also drove him insane, and according to the priest, the only way to kill him is to destroy the brain. Despite this, the priest tries to kill him by disemboweling him, which fails, as Mikos awakens at the local hospital and goes on a killing spree through the small town.
This is a decent enough looking remaster, nothing special, slightly dull colors, but it does the job. The commentary track from some podcasters is fairly amusing and informative too.
