Note : This movie was originally shot as a pilot for a "Tales from the Crypt" style anthology horror series for Showtime, and when it was not picked up, it was turned into this three-part anthology film instead. Notable mostly because of the dizzying amount of celebrity appearances, from lead roles to cameos, including Carpenter and Hooper acting, Tom Arnold, Sam Raimi, Wes Craven, Robert Carradine, Stacy Keach, David Naughton, Mark Hamill, Debbie Harry, Sheena Easton, Roger Corman, Greg Nicotero, Twiggy, and more. The three stories in it are not particularly substantial, but entertaining enough, and the comedy of the bookend segments with Carpenter as a Crypt Keeper type character is pretty funny, if definitely very 90s.
This remaster looks perfectly fine, 5.1 track sounds good too, and the commentary track is particularly fun, especially the Carpenter bits.
