Californication è una serie televisiva statunitense ideata da Tom Kapinos ed interpretata
da David Duchovny. Negli Stati Uniti il primo episodio è stato trasmesso il 13 agosto 2007,
mentre in Italia la serie ha debuttato il 6 marzo 2008 su Jimmy. La serie è stata rinnovata
per una quinta stagione. Il 1º febbraio 2012 è stato annunciato che la serie sarà rinnovata
per una sesta stagione e che le riprese inizieranno nel tardo 2012.
Hank Moody è un affermato scrittore newyorkese in piena crisi creativa ed esistenziale che,
trasferitosi nell'odiata Los Angeles per seguire la trasposizione cinematografica del suo
romanzo nichilista God Hates Us All (Dio ci odia tutti), trasformato in una melensa commedia
romantica intitolata A Crazy Little Thing Called Love con "Tom e Katie", deve tentare di
ritrovare il suo talento, sistemare il rapporto con la ex compagna Karen, di cui è ancora
innamorato, ed essere un padre presente per la figlia adolescente Becca. Sfoga tutta la sua
rabbia e frustrazione nel sesso compulsivo, concedendosi continue avventure di una notte,
nell'alcool e della scrittura (per quanto lui non la consideri tale) di un blog per Hell-A.

Hank entices Karen to have dinner with him, but Julia interrupts their romantic evening. Later, Charlie, Marcy, Krull, Levon and his new friend bring even more drama to the night; and chaos ensues when Stu assaults Charlie's manhood.
Hank recalls turbulent times with Karen, a confused Becca, and their days with a happier Charlie and Marcy. Meanwhile, a nun helps Hank put things into perspective.
