The band Chicago/London Underground is comprised of Rob Mazurek/ct-elec, Chad
Taylor/dr-perc-elec, Alexander Hawkins/p and John Edwards/b. These four
compositions are performed in concert, ranging from 15-24 minutes,and are
filled with free form ideas bouncing off of the walls. Mazurek has his horn
slurp, gasp and make other valve effects with jarring drums and bowed bass on
“A Night Spent Walking Through Mirrors” followed by Hawkins’ scrambling piano
amidst electronic distortions on” Something Must Happen.” A stampede mixed with
animal sounds from subtones create an avalanche on “Boss Redux” and the show
closes with a thrashing drum feature on “Mysteries of Emanating Light.” Was
there a laser show that accompanied this?
