Craig David teams up with Bastille on his new single 'I Know You'
And their first performance of the track is happening tonight.
"I've been a Bastille fan for a long time and we've been waiting for the right moment to collaborate," Craig said.
"I'm so excited to release this track and hope you love it as much as I do. Hearing Dan's voice on this kind of record is a special moment, when we perform this live its going to absolutely go off, and I can't wait to play it in my TS5 set this summer."
Speaking of performing the track live, both Craig and Bastille will be on hand to mark the song's release with the debut live performance of 'I Know You' on BBC One's new music show It Sounds Like Friday Night tonight (November 24) as Craig joins Greg James and Dotty as this week's guest host.
THE STARTUP
During a period of three years, Craig David transitioned from aspiring songwriter and DJ to major U.K. pop star. When his meringue-smooth, garage-tinged R&B single "Fill Me In" reached the top of the U.K. chart during the summer of 2000, the singer, only 19 years old at the time, became the youngest British male solo artist to achieve the feat. Not only that, but he also achieved mainstream U.S. acceptance and platinum sales in 18 additional countries. Though he did not sustain that level of popularity, David released solid modern R&B albums every few years. Through 2015, he had racked up a total of 14 Top Ten U.K. pop hits.
Following My Intuition arrived in September 2016, reaching the number one spot on the U.K. Albums Chart. A year later, David dropped an acoustic version of "Heartline," the first single from his forthcoming seventh LP. ~ Andy Kellman & MacKenzie Wilson, Rovi
Craig has not really been dropping songs like he used to, unlike Bastille. This time, Craig David comes with a bang he titles I know You.
This guy I know is always looking cute and clean so do his songs. I love this song for its cool tune and beats.
Bastille began work on their second album as they continued to tour, and debuted new material at their concerts. One of these songs, "Hangin'," was released as a single in September 2015. Two more songs, "The Currents" and "Good Grief," appeared in 2016. A few months later, Bastille released their sophomore effort, Wild World. It hit number one in the U.K., and debuted inside the Top Ten in a dozen countries around the world. The next year, the band made contributions to a pair of soundracks, first with a cover of Green Day's "Basket Case" for the television series The Tick, and then "World Gone Mad" for the Will Smith film Bright. ~ John D.
