Dard is a 1947 Bollywood drama film directed by Abdul Rashid Kardar. It contains the song “Afsana Likh Rahi Hoon” by Tun Tun. It was a big musical hit which catapulted Naushad to great heights. Its song "Hum dard ka afasana duniya ko suna denge" is still very popular. Lyrics were written by Shakil Badayuni.

SYNOPSIS:- Dard (1947) Attending the annual function of an orphange, Nawab Sahib is attracted by the wit and intelligence of one of its inmates Iqbal. he brings him home as his protege and fulfills his ambition of studying medicine.
Years pass and Iqbal (Nusrat) becomes a doctor. Nawab Sahib and his Begum love him intensely for his honest and upright character. To Suraiya (Munawar Sultana), the Nawab's only daughter, Iqbal implies all that she considers is worth loving, and living for. Soon calamity strikes and the village of the Nawab Sahib is stricken with the deadly plague. In the disease ridden village, Iqbal meets young Hamida (suraiya), the daughter os Nwab's friend and both fall in love.
Before their romance could bloom, Iqbal discovers Surayia's love for him and is faced with a conflict between his heart and his conscience. When Suraiya learns of this, her world comes tumbling down. Aware of the unhapiness and conflict in Iqbal's mind, Suraiya resvolves to forego her love. Her supreme sacrifice makes her love, and all that it stood for divine and immortal.
