Description:

Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction (Super Deluxe Edition | Virtual Surround | FLAC) [ADHDerby]

Virtual Surround is a technology which allows you to listen to music, watch movies, or play video games with surround effects using any set of two channel stereo headphones. I'm a big surround music fan and made this album so I can listen it in surround through headphones on a portable player. The sources of this release are surround versions of the tracks (DTS-HD MA 5.1) ripped from the blu-ray release (Limited Super Deluxe Edition). I've converted them to virtual surround with Creative's BlasterX Acoustic Engine Pro. Using state-of-the-art technology, it gives an enhanced virtual 7.1 channel surround sound experience with regular stereo headphones.

Appetite for Destruction is the debut studio album by American hard rock band Guns N' Roses. It was released on July 21, 1987, by Geffen Records to massive commercial success. It topped the Billboard 200 and became the best-selling debut album as well as the 11th best-selling album in the United States. With about 30 million copies sold worldwide, it is also one of the best-selling records of all time. Although critics were ambivalent toward the album when it was first released, Appetite for Destruction has since received retrospective acclaim and been viewed as one of the greatest albums of all time.

The album was preceded by the single "It's So Easy", "Welcome to the Jungle", the chart-topping "Sweet Child o' Mine", "Paradise City" and "Nightrain" were released as singles after the album's release. The album debuted at number 182 on the Billboard 200 on August 29, 1987, slowly rising to the top of the chart on August 6, 1988 after extensive touring and radio airplay.

Singer Axl Rose stated that many of the songs on the album were written while the band was performing on the Los Angeles club circuit, and a number of songs that would be featured on later Guns N' Roses albums were considered for Appetite for Destruction, such as "Back Off Bitch", "You Could Be Mine", "November Rain" and "Don't Cry". It is said that the reason for not putting "November Rain" on it was because they had already agreed to put "Sweet Child 'O Mine" on it and thus already had a ballad on the album (however, both Use Your Illusion albums would contain more than one ballad).

The band started searching for someone to produce their debut, mostly recommendations made by Geffen executive Tom Zutaut. Demos were recorded under both Manny Charlton and Spencer Proffer, and some work made with Proffer was released in the EP Live ?!*@ Like a Suicide. One of the interviewed prospects was Kiss's Paul Stanley, who was rejected after insisting on changes to Steven Adler's drum setup and the songs. The band considered Mutt Lange, but he was too expensive. Eventually Mike Clink, who had produced several Triumph records, was chosen, for being the first to record the band exactly the way they wanted.

In 1999, Rose had the album re-recorded with the then current lineup (Rose, Robin Finck, Tommy Stinson, Paul Tobias, Josh Freese, Dizzy Reed & Chris Pitman) to "spruce up" the album with new recording techniques. The re-recorded version of the album was never released, although an edited clip of "Sweet Child O' Mine" featuring the second half of the song using the re-recorded version was included over the credits of the movie Big Daddy in 1999.

The album was re-released as a remastered box set in June 2018. It also includes a Blu-ray disc (the source of this release), which has 96kHz 24-bit 5.1 Surround Sound & Remastered Stereo mixes, mixed by Elliot Scheiner and Frank Filipetti. It includes all of Appetite for Destruction, alongside 5 bonus tracks (see below). The remastered release resulted in Appetite for Destruction re-entering the top 10 of the Billboard 200 for the first time in 29 years. The box set received universal critical acclaim, with Metacritic scoring it 95 out of 100, based on 9 reviews.
