Otto persone si risvegliano all’interno di una struttura composta da stanze cubiche comunicanti fra loro grazie a dei portelli situati nel mezzo delle pareti, compresi pavimento e soffitto. Durante il girovagare apparentemente senza costrutto i vari reclusi avranno modo, più o meno casualmente, di ritrovarsi tutti insieme e scoprire, tra una fuga e l’altra dalle trappole presenti nelle stanze, di essere tutti legati da un filo comune. Qualcuno li ha infatti rinchiusi in quello che arriveranno a dedurre essere un Ipercubo, concetto di cubo con una quarta dimensione sinora soltanto teorizzato dalla Fisica Quantistica.
