This is the anime movie adaptation of the published excerpts from Anne Frank's diary, written during World War II.

Her diary chronicles the life of her family, the Van Daan family, and Mr. Dussel hiding in secret rooms in Amsterdam, at great peril to the Christians who worked in the building. They were hiding there in order to avoid capture by the Nazi regime, whose leaders were ordering mass imprisonment and extermination of Jews in concentration camps.
