Synopsis

1.An American Vampire 1997

Frankie (Trevor Lissauer) is a young man who seems to have hit the jackpot: Moondoggie (Johnny Venocur), a cool -- if a little strange -- dude Frankie met at the beach, throws a wild party at Frankie's parents' house, with two beautiful and sexually adventurous women (Carmen Electra and Deborah Xavier) as invitees. But in the morning, the party people are still at the house. In fact, they have no intentions of leaving. In fact, they are all vampires and they intend to hide out at Frankie's house while dining on the neighbors and pets. Frankie enlists the help of the Big Kahuna (Adam West), a veteran vampire killer and legendary surfer dude, to rid his house of these pesky bloodsuckers

2. Blacula 1972

It is Transylvania 1870. The Black Prince Manuwalde [William Marshall] and his wife Tuva [Vonetta McGee] dine with Dracula [Charles Macauley] at Castle Dracula, until they become the feast. When Manuwalde resists, Dracula curses him to be "Blacula...like myself...a living fiend...never to know that sweet blood which shall be your only desire." Dracula seals Blacula in an inescapable tomb.

It is now Transylvania 1970. Two antique dealers buy some items from Dracula's castle and ship them to L.A. One of the items is a coffin from which Manuwalde/Blacula emerges after his 100 year sleep. Manuwalde feeds on them. At their funeral, Manuwalde notices Tina, who looks like his exwife Tuva, and he pursues her, but she eludes him. Tina and Manuwalde meet again later at a club and fall in love. Meanwhile, a lot of blood-drained bodies are showing up around L.A., and Dr Gordon Thomas [Thalmus Rasulala] is concerned. He talks Michelle [Denise Nichols] into digging up one of the antique dealers, and they find that he has become a vampire. They begin to suspect Manuwalde and go in search of his coffin. Manuwalde has made Tina a vampire, and Thomas and Michelle stake her, thinking she is the vampire. Distraught over Tina's death, Manuwalde goes out onto the sunny roof and dies.

3. Blood for Dracula 1974

Count Dracula [Udo Kier] and his renfield Anton [Arno Juerging] travel to Italy in search of a virgin's blood. They are invited to stay at the di Fiori estate where there are four unmarried girls. Perhaps the Count will choose one of them? Highly unlikely. The two middle girls -- Rubina [Stefania Casini] and Saphiris [Dominique Darel] --are screwing the hired hand Mario [Joe Dallesandro]. Dracula drinks their blood and promptly throws up. Mario gets wise to the vampire and rapes the youngest girl Perla [Silvia Dionisio] so she won't be of interest. The oldest girl Esmerelda [Milena Vukotic] is still a virgin and gives herself to Dracula. Dracula is staked by Mario after Mario chops off both Dracula's arms, one leg and few other parts. Esmerelda throws herself on the stake, too.

4. Brotherhood of Blood 2007

Carrie Rieger tugs at her bonds. The young vampire huntress has to free herself. Guarded by vampires, chained in a dark cellar by the mighty vampire King Pashek, her time is running out. She knows an even greater threat than the vampires is coming relentlessly closer. Everything will be decided tonight.

Carrie has crossed a dangerous trail: Back from a faraway journey, a man slowly transforms into a vampire. And he transforms further - into something that even the vampires fear; the mighty vampire demon Vlad Kossel.

The vampire sovereigns killed Kossel many hundreds of years ago, but now he has seemingly returned. In his new body, he will take revenge and destroy everything in his way. There is only one hunter who can stop him...

5. Cronos 1993

"In 1536, fleeing from the Inquisition, the alchemist Humberto Oganelli disembarked in Veracruz, Mexico. Appointed official watchmaker to the viceroy, Oganelli was determined to perfect an invention which would provide him with the key to eternal life. He was to name it the Cronos device. Four hundred years later, one night in 1937, part of a wall in a building collapsed. Amongst the victims was a man of strange skin, the color of marble in moonlight, his chest mortally pierced. His last words: Sua tempore. This was the alchemist. The authorities located the residence of the dead man. What they found there was never fully revealed to the public. After a brief investigation, the mansion and its contents were sold at public auction. Never on any list or inventory was the Cronos device mentioned. As far as anyone knew, it never existed."

What was not revealed to the public was that a human male was found hanging from his feet, his blood draining into a basin. Also unknown to the public, except for a dying millionaire named de la Guardia [Claudio Brook] who will stop at nothing to obtain it, the Cronos device had been hidden in the base of a statue of an archangel. De la Guardia had spent his life acquiring old statues of archangels, always in search of the hidden Cronos device...so far in vain...until the day that the archangel shows up in the antique shop of Jesus Gris [Frederico Luppi]. Jesus and his granddaughter find the device and, not knowing what it is, Jesus activates it. He is horrified as claws protrude from the orb, hold fast to his hand and proceed to dig into his flesh.

Meanwhile, de la Guardia (who lives in an antiseptic chamber) sends his nephew Angel [Ron Perlman] to buy the archangel. When the statue proves to be empty, however, Angel is forced to take strong measures. He kills Jesus. Fortunately, Jesus has come to realize that the Cronos device confers immortality, and he uses it. But there is a cost. He begins to crave human blood, and his flesh starts peeling off, exposing a strange layer of skin, the color of marble in moonlight. In the final confrontation between Jesus, de la Guardia, and Angel, Jesus emerges victorious. Still, he smashes the Cronos device and goes home to Aurora and his girlfriend...to die.

6. Martin.1977

Martin (John Amplas), a young man who looks around 20-years-old, boards a train in Indianapolis, Indiana for New York. At night, he breaks into a sleeping car and sedates a woman with a syringe full of narcotics. She struggles, but he tells her not to struggle or be upset because she wont feel pain. After a few minutes, the woman falls asleep, and Martin has sex with the unconscious woman. Afterwards, he slices her wrists with a razor blade so he can drink her blood. The woman bleeds to death in her sleep.

In the morning, the train stops in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where Martin disembarks. He is met by Tata Cuda (Lincoln Maazel) an elderly and hostile old man who claims to be his cousin from the Old World. Together, they travel by another train to the town of Braddock, a dying industrial suburb. They walk to Cuda's large house where he shows Martin his living quarters. Cuda then accuses Martin of being an 84-year-old vampire from his old country. He has taken in Martin because he is family, but tells him, "First I will save your soul. Then I shall destroy you." Martin denies being a vampire and implies that Cuda is merely his uncle rather than his cousin. Cuda then puts up strings of garlic on the doors to his and his granddaughter's room, and then holds up a small cross when Martin approaches him. Martin takes away the cross, and even takes a bite of the garlic mocking these attempts by saying bitterly, "There's no real magic... ever". Cuda tells Martin that he can come and go as he pleases. But he also warns Martin that he will kill him if he kills anyone in Braddock. He also tells Martin to stay away from his granddaughter Christine (Christine Forrest), whom arrives home from her job that evening.

Cuda introduces Christine to Martin, but also warns her to stay away from him. But Christine instead strikes up a friendship with Martin who confides in her about his vampire heritage. When Cuda later confirms Martin's claims to be a vampire, Christine, not surprisingly, refuses to believe either one. She thinks that Cuda and the other members of her family have driven Martin to insanity by making him think that he is a vampire. It is never revealed if Martin really is a vampire, or just a shy and lonely youth with troubled issues. Christine is the only person that Martin gets the courage to talk to. When Christine's boyfriend Arthur (Tom Savini) arrives at the house for dinner, Martin stops talking and backs away despite Arthur's attempt at a conversation. Christine later confides in Martin that she hopes to leave Braddock someday with Arthur, even though Martin points out that Arthur treats her badly and is both verbally and physically abusive towards her.

When Christine sees that Martin won't talk to anyone else, she buys him a phone which he installs in his room. Martin begins to repeatingly call a radio talk show where he describes what it's like to be a vampire. He becomes known on the radio as "the Count" to all the listeners. But the patronizing host (Michael Gornick) thinks he's just crazy.

Martin gets a job at Cuda's grocery store of stocking shelves, hauling boxes around, and even gets to be a delivery boy for some of the customers. One of his customers is a certain Abby Santini (Elyane Nadeau), who becomes taken in with Martin. She is a very friendly young woman who is depressed when she tells Martin that her husband is unfaithful. But Martin still does not have the nerve to talk with her, so she is happy to have someone to confide in with her life problems. Martin phones the radio show host to describe his infatuation with the housewife and senses that she wants to have sex with him. When the radio show host asks Martin if it is a sexual problem that he has involving women criticizing him during sex, Martin replies that he has never had sex with a woman who was awake.

One day, Martin travels by train to outside Braddock to look for victims. At a supermarket, he follows a young woman (Sarah Venable) home to her posh suburban house. He sees the woman's husband (Richard Rubenstein) leave for a long business trip, and Martin decides this would be the right time for more feeding. Martin returns to the house after dark and breaks in through the garage door. But it is Martin who gets the surprise when he bursts into her bedroom to find her in bed with her adulterous lover Lewis (Al Levitsky). After a vicious struggle, Martin jabs both of them with hyprodermic needles with narcotics, and waits for the drugs to take affect. He drags the unconscious body of Lewis from the house to a clump of trees across the street where he kills him by shoving a broken tree branch into his neck and drinks his blood. Martin returns to the house where he has sex with the unconscious woman. But out of compassion and pity, he decides to let her live.

Martin begins to have romantic monochrome visions of his vampire past (real or imagined), where he drained blood from a young woman and was chased through the streets of a nameless European town by a torch-lit mob.

During one Sunday at church, Cuda brings home Father Howard (George A. Romero) who asks him about the possibility of exorcism and demon possession. Father Howard calls upon the elderly Father Zulemans (Clifford Forrest, Jr.) over at Cuda's request. Together, Cuda and Zulemans confront Martin his bedroom and attempt to perform an exorcism on him. At this point, Martin remembers (another real or imaginary flashback), in the Old Country of people trying to perform an exorcism on him, and he flees them. Martin then flees from Cuda and Zuelmas as well. A little later that night, Martin terrorizes Cuda in a children's playground when he puts on a Dracula cape and puts false fangs into his mouth to pretend that he really is a vampire.

One day, Martin finally musters the courage to talk with Mrs. Santini during a routine delivery to her house where he tells her that he's aware of her attempts to seduce him and wants now to have sex with her. After having sex for the first time, Mrs. Santini becomes more depressed for she tells Martin that her husband just left her because she discovered that she cannot bear children, and that her desires towards him are based on sex and nothing else. But Martin wants to stay with her and help her move on with her life. Martin tells the radio show host about his affair with the housewife and that he no longer has the urge to attack other women.

Meanwhile, Arthur meets with Cuda and tells him that he wants Christine to leave town with him so they can get married and start a family. But Christine becomes angry at Cuda when he tells Arthur that insanity runs in their family and he shouldn't consider having children with her. Shortly afterwards, Christine packs up and leaves Braddock for New York with Arthur despite Martin telling her that Arthur is abusive towards her. But her mind is made up. Before leaving, Christine tells Martin that she really has no ill feelings towards him and just wants to make a fresh start with her life. She says goodbye to him and promises to write. But Martin knows that with an abusive and possessive man in Christine's life, she probably won't.

Depressed over losing his one true friend, Martin phones the radio show host and tells him that he's getting "shaky" and wants to go out looking for more victims. That night, Martin travels to a rough crime-ridden area of Pittsburgh and attacks two derelicts in a alley, injecting them with narcotics. He kills one of them by silting the bum's wrist and drinking his blood. Martin is about to kill the second one when a police car shows up and gives chase. Martin narrowly escapes during a long chase on foot which leads from the garbage strew streets and through a local store. Martin runs into an old warehouse where a drug deal is going down. A shootout between the two cops and the three thugs begins where all of them are killed, leaving Martin as the sole survivor who casually walks away from the carnage.

One day, Martin finds Mrs. Santini dead in her bathtub, after she had slit her writs with a razor blade. Martin anonymously calls the police to report the body and leaves. He phones the radio show host one final time to say that he really doesn't need friends or people to talk to for he is his own person. But when Cuda learns about Mrs. Santini's suicide, he mistakenly thinks Martin killed her and made it look like a suicide as he's done before. The next morning, Cuda walks into Martin's room while he is asleep and kills him by hammering a wooden stake through Martin's heart.

Cuda buries Martin's body in his back garden, while over the closing credits various voices from people are heard talking to the radio show host asking the whereabouts of "the Count".

8. Tale Of A Vampire 1992

Alex [Julian Sands] is a vampire but he drinks only the blood of animals. Anne Baker [Suzanna Hamilton] has just suffered the death of her boyfriend. Anne and Alex have never crossed each other paths until a mysterious man in a hat gets Anne a job at the Library where Alex comes each evening to read aged documents in search of information about a 19th century woman named Virginia Clemm. There is a resemblence between Anne and Virginia which Alex cannot help noticing, and the two become friends. The day after Alex "kisses" Anne for the first time, the mysterious stranger appears to warn her that Alex's "love bite" is actually the bite of a vampire. Anne goes to Alex's house, intending to kill him while he sleeps, but instead she asks him to make her a vampire. Alex refuses. Anne disappears. Alex finds her lying on his bed, dead, wrapped in red ribbon, a thank-you present for Alex's "undying love". From the shadows springs the mysterious man. He impales Alex with a sword and finally identifies himself as Edgar Clemm [Kenneth Cranham], the husband of Virginia. Edgar is also a vampire, and he is the one responsible for Anne's death (among others). In addition, he reveals to Alex that he has imprisoned Virginia in a lead box under the North Sea, there to suffer alone the vampire "undeath" until the end of time. This is to be her punishment for betraying him. As Edgar bends to kiss Anne, Alex impales him with a pole and tosses his body into the river below.

9. The Monster Squad 1987

"One hundred years before this story begins, it was a time of darkness in Transylvania, a time when Dr Abraham Van Helsing and a small band of freedom fighters conspired to rid the world of vampires and monsters and to save mankind from the forces of eternal evil. They blew it."

It is present day 1987. Twelve-year old Sean Crenshaw[Andre Gower] and some of his friends (but not Sean's sister Phoebe aka The Feeb [Ashley Bank]) belong to a Monster Club. Thanks to Sean's garage-saling mother Emily [Mary Ellen Trainor], Sean obtains a diary written by Dr Van Helsing. Unfortunately, the diary is in German. That night, a man storms the police department (where Sean's father Del [Stephen Macht] works) claiming to be a werewolf, a mummy at the local museum disappears, and Dracula [Duncan Regehr] drops into town with his buddies Frankenstein [Tom Noonan] and Gillman [Tom Woodruff, Jr]. Also, that very night, Sean gets a call from a Mr Alucard (Dracula) looking to buy Van Helsing's diary.

Afraid that there are monsters about, Sean reforms the Monster Club into the monster-hunting Monster Squad, consisting of Sean, Patrick [Robby Kigen], Horace (aka Fat Kid) [Brent Chalem], Rudy [Ryan Lambert], and Eugene [Michael Faustino]. Sean, Patrick, and Horace take the diary to the Scary German Guy [Leonardo Cimino] in order to get it translated. The book tells how the opposing forces of good and evil are held in balance by an indestructible amulet, how the amulet becomes vulnerable once every 100 years at midnight, and how, if the amulet is destroyed, evil will reign supreme. The book also contains a magic spell which, if read by a virgin, opens a great vortex that sucks away evil into limbo. Finally, the book gives the date of the next fight of evil -- tomorrow night!

When Phoebe brings home the Frankenstein monster, the boys are convinced that monsters are in town to find the amulet, and the Monster Squad goes into action. Eugene writes letters to alert the army. Rudy fashions wooden stakes in woodshop and melts down Emily's silverware into silver bullets in metalshop. Patrick xeroxes Monster Squad business cards. Sean substitutes silver bullets for the bullets in his father's revolver. Sean, Horace, Eugene and Frank(enstein) sneak into the old mansion up on Shadowbrook Road where Dracula is residing and steal the amulet. All they have to do now is find a virgin who can read the magic spell in German. Patrick volunteers his teenage sister [Lisa Fuller].

At 20 minutes to midnight, the Monster Squad convenes in the village square. One by one, the monsters begin to show up. Patrick's sister holds the amulet and reads the magic spell but no vortex appears. "Are you absolutely sure she's a virgin?" asks the Scary German Guy. "Well, there was Steve, but he doesn't count," Patrick's sister says. Subsequently, Phoebe is drafted into the virgin's role, and the Scary German Guy helps her to read the spell while Rudy impales vampiresses, Sean blows up Wolfman [Carl Thibault] with a stick of dynamite, Rudy shoots Wolfman with a silver bullet, Horace blasts Gillman with a rifle, and Frankenstein impales Dracula on a spiked fencepost. The vortex into limbo finally opens, and all the monsters get sucked away.

11. Vampires Out For Blood 2005

Policeman Hank Holten (Kevin Dillon) is being interviewed in his hospital room by Dr Blake (Jim Ortlieb) to determine his ability to stand trial for killing his wife Susan Hastings, a writer of vampire fiction. This is the story as Hank tells it to the doctor.

About a year ago, Susan (Vanessa Angel) called quits to their marriage and moved out. Hank had a hard time getting used to the idea that Susan was on her own and dating other men, such as actor Jake Vincent (Alex McArthur), and would frequently follow her around--just to be sure that she was safe, he rationalized. One day, as Hank stood behind a tree and watched Susan jogging past, a robber put a gun to Hank's head and demanded money. Hank responded by beating the bejeesus out of the guy. Afterwards, he concocted a story about the guy resisting arrest, but CaptainJohn Billings (Lance Henriksen) didn't buy it. Billings warned Hank to stop drinking and to stop stalking his wife or he'd be placed on suspension.

Hank agreed to the captain's terms, so Billings assigned him to a case involving the disappearance of Layla Simmons, a college girl who went missing after going to a rave in Hollywood. Hank began hanging around rave bars looking for her. One night, she turned up. When Hank tried to speak with Layla (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe), she invited him to join her, her "brother" Alex (Kenneth Colom), and Alex's girlfriend. They drove to an abandoned hospital where Hank was led into a vampire den. When Layla tried to drink Hank's blood, he pushed her off, fired three shots into her chest, and wounded a bunch of other vampires. Suddenly the Master appeared, proclaimed Hank for himself, and began drinking from Hank's neck. They were interrupted, however, when a shaft of light from the rising sun fell across his face. The next thing Hank knew he was waking up in an empty room with bite marks on his neck. There was no sign that anyone had been there, and the watchman swore up and down that he'd seen no one else on the premises.

When Hank explained to Captain Billings what took place, he was not believed. In fact, Hank was relieved of duty until he got his act together, so Hank decided to take matters into his own hands. This included asking for help from Susan, but Susan replied by filing a harrassment charge against him. Meanwhile, Hank was turning. His eyes were becoming sensitive to light, his eyeteeth had began growing, he was thirsty all the time, and his strength was increasing. He began living in his car, the windows shielded with tinfoil. It wasn't until Susan noticed that he cast no reflection in a mirror that she dropped the complaint and agreed to help him.

First, she made Hank drink wolfsbane tea. Then she pressed a cross against the wound in his neck. This was to slow the turning. Next, she showed him her vampire hunting kit--complete with holy water, garlic, stakes, hammer, and sword--and explained to him the process of vampire slaying. As they were planning out their fourth move -- finding where the vampires sleep and killing the Master (Ismail Kanater) -- Layla and Alex stormed the motel room where they were staying. When the vampires threatened to kill Susan, she asked only to be allowed to interview them. Hank doused Layla with holy water and pinned Alex under a sword. Meanwhile, Jake Vincent, who was P.O.ed that Susan was staying at a motel with her ex, chose this moment to confront her. Unfortunately, Vincent ended up losing his head over it. When Layla noticed that the sun was rising, she and Alex split for the day, leaving Susan and Hank unharmed.

Susan figured that the vampires were nesting somewhere in the abandoned hospital, so she and Hank went to snoop. Susan also figured that the two guys guarding the hospital entrance were wraiths who, in exchange for guarding the vampires' nest, got to feed on their leftovers. She tested out her hypothesis by asking them for car help while flashing a crucifix. The wraiths didn't like it one bit, so now Hank and Susan knew that they would have to out the wraiths before they could get into the hospital. The problem is that wraiths are very strong and their blood is like acid. According to Susan, their only weakness is a fear of heights, so Susan and Hank climbed the fire escape to the hospital roof. They took out one wraith by noosing and hanging him. When the second wraith came up to the roof, Hank pushed him off. On his way down, the wraith fell through a disguised trap door into the sub-basement.

That must be where the vampires sleep, surmised Susan. But it was almost sunset and Hank didn't want to endanger Susan, so he handcuffed her to a railing, gave her a cellphone, and told her to call Captain Billings if he wasn't back by sundown. Then he went looking for the vampires. After searching a few empty rooms, Hank found the coffins and staked all the vampires. Just as the sun went down, he came upon two more coffins, one belonging to Alex and the other to Layla, who were just waking up. After complimenting Alex on his shirt, Hank destroyed him with a crossbow. Layla leapt at Hank, and Hank shoved a stake through her heart. But where was the Master?

"Right behind you," said Layla, with her dying unbreath. Hank turned to see both the Master and Susan standing there. Susan's neck revealed that she had been bitten. Now Hank faced a dilemma. If he killed the Master, all the Master's childer (except for Hank) would die. Giving up his life for Susan, Hank tossed her the crossbow with orders to kill the Master, but the Master ordered Susan to kill Hank instead. As Susan prepared to fire on Hank, Hank leapt at the crossbow, forcing Susan to turn it back on the Master, the result being that both he and Susan pulled the trigger together, "curing" them both. As the Master exploded, the hospital also began to explode, and Hank and Susan ran for the door...until Susan turned around and went back in.

Two days later, when Hank tried to explain what happened, Captain Billings denied seeing Susan, dropping her complaint, or releasing Hank into her custody. In fact, he had no memory of seeing Hank since he assigned him the case of Layla Simmons. Susan's body was not found in the rubble, but the desk clerk at the motel did remember checking them in and later finding two bodies in their room. Billings figured that Hank went berserk, killed Vincent, then killed Susan. Hank maintained that it was the vampires and that Susan, probably wanting to become a vampire all along, went back to save the Master and get him to bite her again. Figuring that Hank intended to plead insanity, Billings placed him under psychiatric care.

After listening to Hank's story, Dr Blake concludes that was Hank's inability to accept Susan ending their relationship and starting up a new one with Jake Vincent, compounded with Hank's alcohol abuse and lack of sleep, that caused him to suffer a breakdown, which manifested itself in these destructive and antisocial behaviors.

Epiloque: Hank is awakened by Susan laying next to him on his cell cot. As Hank suspected, Susan has become a vampire. She extols the virtues of being a vampire and tells him that the Master's powers are fantastic (he caused Billings' memory loss) and that she's come back to kill Hank because she knows he will never stop looking for her once he's released. As Susan prepares to put the bite on Hank, he stakes her with a chair leg. Blake and Billings are both watching through closed circuit TV but, of course, a vampire cannot be photographed, so all they can do is assume that Hank is acting out his fantasies. Billings goes in to talk with Hank and to ask him once again where he's hidden Susan's body. Hank points to the floor, but Susan has vanished. Billings notices an earring on the floor and bends down to look under the bed. Billings is about to find Susan.
