This classic film footage contains Otis Redding's most
exciting performances from the Stax/Volt tour and Monterey
Pop.
Otis' breathtaking performances at the 1967 Monterey Pop
festival gave him a new audience. Although he had gained
prominence in the past, his reputation was limited to
rhythm & blues fans. He so electrified the audience at
Monterey that the world of pop opened for him. From that
point on Otis' audience transcended all categories.
The 1966 Stax-Volt European Tour contains performance footage
of the first major multi city tour of America's R & B
superstars. Superb performances by Sam & Dave and Otis
Redding hypnotized the European kids again opening up new
audiences for Otis and propelling him to stardom.
