La serie Revenge (basada en La clásica novela histórica El Conde de Montecristo de Alejandro Dumas) , nos sugiere una interpretación literal de la trama del libro, y la reducción de los múltiples niveles de la novela a uno sólo de ellos (sin que esto sea necesariamente negativo, sino más bien algo inevitable para una adaptación televisiva), estará centrada en la misteriosa joven Emily Thorne, que llega a una pequeña comunidad con el secreto propósito de tomar venganza de aquellos que han destruído su familia.
La joven será interpretada por Emily VanCamp (Everwood) y la acompañan en el elenco principal Madeleine Stowe (Raines), Gabriel Mann (Mad Men), y Ashley Madekwe (Secret Diary of a Call Girl). La serie es escrita y producida por Mike Kelley, y dirigida por Philip Noyce.
