Dopo anni passati a mettere la sua carriera al primo posto, una cabarettista incontra un ragazzo che sembra perfetto: intelligente, simpatico, di successo e forse troppo bello per essere vero.
Andrea Singer, attrice comica professionista, ha da sempre anteposto la propria carriera alla ricerca dell’amore: del resto, dedicarsi a un lavoro molto particolare richiede uno sforzo non indifferente e non sono permesse distrazioni.
Ma, come nelle più classiche storie d’amore, un incontro fatale potrebbe cambiare tutto. La svolta ha le sembianze di Dennis, uno stravagante nerd dotato di fascino e personalità. Andrea, che in quanto a determinazione non è seconda a nessuno, abbasserà però le barriere di fronte a quell’uomo, provocando la reazione sorpresa delle sue amiche.
Tra queste vi è Margot, per nulla convinta che egli sia adatto ad Andrea e alle sue priorità. Così, come fosse una piccola pulce nell’orecchio, Margot convincerà l’amica a indagare meglio sul passato (e presente) del misterioso Dennis…
