At the Deanfield Space Centre, home of the British space programme, scientists are finalising their work on a project to launch
the first rocket into stable orbit around the earth. The launch goes well until its final stage when there is a malfunction.
At the same time it emerges that two people closely attached to the secret project have disappeared without a trace.
