Ariane is a young ballet dancer living in Paris with dreams of stardom. In order to pay the rent, she takes a job in an upmarket strip club. She soon devises a unique act that captivates audiences and elevates her to star status in the Paris strip scene. The film shows a surprising amount of Nico's body for early 1960s standards. Fascinating because this is Nico before her association with Andy Warhol, before Lou Reed, before Jim Morrison, before the drugs that ravaged her and before she became the godmother of goth. Music composed by Serge Gainsbourg who also appears in the movie as a pianist.
