E01 Edenbridge and Oxted Agricultural Show
Sarah is a passionate livestock farmer and devoted to her Kunekune pigs. As she heads to the south east's famous Edenbridge and Oxted Agricultural Show, she has high hopes of them walking away as rosette winners. Meanwhile, farming couple Frances and Simon are making their debut appearance at the show with their pedigree Dexter cattle, some of which play an important conservation role grazing in the South Downs.
E02 Royal Cheshire County Show
Derbyshire duo Becky and Matt hold down second jobs to fund their dream of rearing their flock of pedigree Dutch spotted sheep. Winning rosettes at the Royal Cheshire County Show is recognition for breeding the best, so Becky is going all out for a prize even though it's her first time competing here. Joining them in the show ring with their own Dutch spotted contenders are farming couple Sharron and Peter, who live in Yorkshire. They have been passionate promoters of this breed from the get-go, so a win for them will mean their hard work has been worth it.
E03 Stroud Farmers' Market
iltshire farmers Rebecca and Luke rear their cattle, sheep and pigs with the help of their four children. Always aiming to farm as sustainably as they can, selling their award-winning meat at Stroud Farmers' Market in Gloucestershire is a vital source of income. It's a long day, but Luke hopes his barbecued burgers and sausages will be hot favourites with hungry customers. Meanwhile, their daughter Esme is on the charm offensive, determined to do her family proud and pocket as many cold meat sales as she can. / / Self-taught fruit farmers Helen and David have been selling at Stroud for over 20 years. They have ploughed all their efforts into growing over 250 rare fruit varieties in their Gloucestershire orchard. They pick over 40 tonnes of apples each year, which they sell fresh and bottled as juice and homemade cider. Both families rely on Stroud's weekly farmers' market for their livelihood, and it's full-on for five hours to secure a successful day's takings.
E04 Ashbourne Show
he lives of dairy farming couple Jo and Alex revolve around two things: their Jersey Cows and winning at the Ashbourne Show in Derbyshire. They're returning this year with 11 cows and all the family in tow, determined to hold onto their championship title. Also a show regular is shire horse breeder John, who is here with his daughter Catherine. She has to pick up the reins and go it alone in the competition ring for the very first time while John performs his chair duties for the day and supports her from the sidelines.
E05 Blenheim Palace Food Festival
Sheep farming couple Tim and Tanya have breathed new life into their Cotswold farm, ensuring that Tim's young son has the chance to take on a viable business in the future. Their most ambitious venture was three years in the making: they have recently launched the UK's first sheep's milk vodka. However, at £60 per bottle, the challenge will be to sell it. Tim and Tanya have high hopes that they can reel in potential buyers for their artisan spirit at Blenheim Palace Food Festival, even before lunchtime! / / Meanwhile, Wye Valley-based brothers Matt and Kit are working round the clock collecting honey from 150 beehives and making it into sparkling mead. As a young family business, they rely on their own teamwork to make the dream work. They hope bottles will fly off their stall once people sample their modern take on this ancient drink. On top of that, creating a buzz at this prestigious event could bring them closer to landing a lucrative deal.
