Lo fa con una storia di fantasmi che mescola la commedia all’orrore, guardando in direzione di quel Robert Zemeckis che non a caso svolge il ruolo di produttore esecutivo. Insieme al coevo Mars Attacks! di Tim Burton il film concede una delle ultime occasioni per ammirare sullo schermo Michael J. Fox, prima che il Parkinson lo spingesse a ridurre drasticamente le interpretazioni
The Frighteners is the film with which Peter Jackson can officially begin his work in Hollywood. It does so with a ghost story that mixes comedy with horror, looking in the direction of that Robert Zemeckis who, not surprisingly, plays the role of executive producer. Along with the contemporary Mars Attacks! by Tim Burton, the film offers one of the last chances to admire Michael J. Fox on the screen, before Parkinson's drove him to drastically reduce his performances
