1996's NO THOUGHT, NO BREATH, NO EYES, NO HEART (THE PURE REMIX EP) is the most dance-oriented thing the Golden Palominos have done since their avant-funk debut back in 1993. These six lengthy tracks from the Palominos' album PURE, remixed by Bill Laswell ("Heaven"), Bandulu (three wildly divergent techno-oriented mixes of the album's single "No Skin") and Terre Thaemlitz (a heavy industrial mix of "No Skin" and a ridiculously intense melding of PURE's "Gun" and "Little Suicides") are excellent examples of mid-'90s dancefloor trends, including bits of jungle, drum-and-bass, and ambient techno in the grooves.
