The Holy Virgin vs The Evil Dead (1991), directed by Lu Chun-Ku, uncut 88 Films remaster, encoded in 10 bit HEVC with AAC sound, including original Cantonese theatrical dual mono and English subtitles.

Note : It's been a while since we did some Hong Kong Category III madness, and this is certainly one of the weirder ones even of that strange bunch. A mix of softcore porn, magical martial arts, demon cults, automatic weapons, and some incredibly strange filters on the camera, it does kind of deliver what the title promises, and then some. Note that this uncut version has had the cut sections (that is, the tits and ass) restored from a quite low-quality SD video copy, so don't expect consistent quality, but on the other hand, once the image gets fuzzy and noisy, you know to pay attention. This is headed up by Donnie Yen, and I think this is the first film I've done with this legendary Hong Kong actor, backed up by, Pauline Yeung, Ben Lam, Chui Hei-Man, Kathy Chow, and Wai Kwong-Lo.
Professor Shiang's female students are gorily murdered by a strange demon that appears after the moon turns blood red. At first, the police consider him a suspect, but the body count mounts, through various blood moon episodes, which in some cases lead to the demon appearing, and in others, people getting possessed, their eyes turning green, and them murdering their friends, while often involving nudity. The police realize there's something supernatural going on, and Shiang teams up with police inspector Chen and Chen's girlfriend, who happens to be Shiang's ex wife, and they seek out a mystical Cambodian princess who's been prophecied to defeat the Moon Demon. Turns out there's a demon-worshipping cult, which is also big-time into non-consensual female nudity, and there's not much left to do but to pull out the big guns, and one glowy magical sword, and kick some ass.
As mentioned, the restored cut parts are much lower quality than the rest of the film, while the original film elements are better, but not amazing, there's a fair bit of variable grain and some dust, although color and contrast is pretty decent. Dual mono track sounds fine for what it is.
