GENERAL INFO Genre Documentary
Plot In August 1970, a group of farmers around Lake Mývatn dynamited a dam to save their land, their precious lake and salmon river Laxá. The farmers won in court case by sticking together and all confessing. This marks the birth of environmentalism in Iceland.
The farmers had protested the construction of a power plant in the area, but their voices were ignored. The destruction of the dam prevented the destruction of Laxá and Mývatn. 65 people were charged with a crime, but those who were charged never revealed their co-conspirators. They ain’t no snitches.
