Note : In the mid-70s, the first wave of giallo hyperpopularity gave way to the poliziottesci, gritty crime thrillers inspired by stuff like Dirty Harry. Sergio Martino seems unwilling to totally let go of his sexy giallo style, though, so we get hybrid fare like this, with an obsessive cop chasing the truth after a young girl he met is found murdered. And it's not half bad, with some nice action set pieces, always very good looking cinematography, and solid performances, although it doesn't really stand out that much.
Undercover cop Paolo meets an attractive young girl, but he's unaware she's secretly an underage prostitute (what his intentions with her were, given that she's underage, is left as an exercise for the viewer). When she turns up dead, he wants to investigate, but both an assassin and powerful, connected people running the prostitution ring very much want him out of their hair.
This is a quite nice remaster, subtle grain, decent color and contrast, sharp enough, and the two mono tracks are fine. Commentary by Troy Howarth as usual interesting and informative.
