Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May attempt to find the perfect car for 17-year-olds, negotiating insurance companies, accident repairs and a very muddy music festival car park in the process. Plus, Richard goes to Abu Dhabi to test the new Lamborghini Murcielago SV and stages the world's first ever race between the 1000 horsepower Bugatti Veyron and the mighty McLaren F1. Back in the studio, the Star in the Reasonably Priced Car is Stephen Fry.
Top Gear is a BAFTA and Emmy award winning British television series about motor vehicles, primarily cars. It began in 1977 as a conventional motoring magazine show. Over time, and especially since a relaunch in 2002, it has developed a quirky, humorous style. The show is currently presented by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, and has featured three different test drivers known as The Stig (the first dressed in a black racing outfit, and the second and third dressed in a white one).
Freddie, Chris and Paddy confront the male midlife crisis by buying the perfect sports cars for ‘gentlemen of a certain age’. Back at the track, Chris tests out the raucous new Toyota GR Yaris hot hatch.
The team try out some of James Bond’s greatest cars, including the legendary Aston Martin DB5. Freddie and an Extreme E race car take on a man with a jet pack, while Chris and Paddy test a new Ferrari against a very old Alfa.
Freddie, Chris and Paddy head to the Lake District for an emotional reunion with their own dads’ old cars. Elsewhere, Chris heads out on track to test Lamborghini’s most powerful car ever, the hybrid Sian.
Paddy introduces Chris and Freddie to his latest creation: an electric, all-terrain ice cream van for the 21st century. They also test the battery-powered Honda E, Vauxhall Corsa-e and Mini Electric in a race around a deserted Alton Towers.
