U2 Lovetown Tour 35th Anniversary Edition 1989-2024 2CD The Point Depot, Dublin - Republic of Ireland 26th, 27th, 30th and 31st of December 1989 Compilation made by gonzalo76
To celebrate the 35th birthday of the Lovetown Tour, one of their shortest but musically interesting of the band I have wanted to compile a unique concert containing all the songs played in the early four dates at the Dublin's Point Depot with all the performed tracks carefully mixed/ merged and, as much as was possible, placed in their cronological order.
I have selected the best performances of each song that was played back at the Point Depot, Dublin, Ireland on December 26, 27, 30 & 31, 1989. I have mixed them in a long 30-songs setlist with and every song is mastered at the same volume to avoid weird changes, and the transitions between songs are polished to make it all sound like one big concert.
The audio sources are four excellent quality bootlegs: Source 1 = Dec. 26th Dublin 1226 Day 1 / Moonchild Records MC045 Source 2 = Dec. 27th Dublin 1227 Day 2 / Moonchild Records MC046 Source 3 = Dec. 30th Dublin 1230 Day 3 / Moonchild Records MC047 Source 4 = Dec. 31th Dublin 1231 Day 4 / Moonchild Records MC048
Bootleg: Moonchild Records MC045-046-047-048 Software: Sound Forge, iZotope, CDWave Editor, foobar2000 This is not a remastered, brickwalled or compressed recording!

Comments:
26th The verse Bono sings at the end of One Tree Hill is completely improvised; it is not a snippet. Part of a William Wordsworth poem is read at the start of Where The Streets Have No Name in tribute to the recently deceased Irish poet Samuel Beckett. This show features the first use of God Part II as an opener - the only other time it takes this role is on 5 January 1990 in Rotterdam. Setlist and comment provided by U2gigs.com.
27th This is the only performance of Two Hearts Beat As One between 29 April 1985 and 27 July 2015. With Or Without You was on the original setlist before 40 but it was not played. Setlist and comment provided by U2gigs.com
30th First performance of She's A Mystery To Me. This concert featured Bono's famous "dream it all up again" speech that signalled the change in the band's musical direction that appeared on the next album, Achtung Baby. Setlist and comment provided by U2gigs.com.
31st This show was broadcast on radio and became one of the most widely bootlegged U2 concerts before it received an official online release via iTunes. Setlist and comment provided by U2gigs.com.
